Coventry Blinds & Shutters

What are the best blinds for kitchens and bathrooms?

Kitchens and bathrooms need blinds that handle moisture, steam, and occasional splashes. The best options are moisture-resistant roller blinds, faux wood venetians, and aluminium venetians.

Moisture-resistant roller blinds have a PVC or polyester coating that prevents water absorption. They wipe clean with a damp cloth and do not develop mould or mildew. Choose a lighter colour to brighten the room and avoid showing water marks.

Faux wood venetian blinds look like real wood but are made from a composite material that does not warp or crack in humid conditions. They are a good choice if you want the warm look of timber in a bathroom without the risk of damage.

Aluminium venetian blinds are the most practical option for kitchens, especially near the hob. They are non-flammable, easy to wipe, and available in slim profiles that suit smaller kitchen windows. A quick wipe with a damp cloth removes grease and cooking residue.

Avoid real wood blinds in bathrooms. The moisture causes them to swell, warp, and eventually crack. Fabric Roman blinds are also risky in bathrooms unless the room has very good ventilation.

For kitchen windows directly above a sink, a roller blind is usually the neatest option. It rolls out of the way completely when you are washing up and drops down for privacy when needed.

All our kitchen and bathroom blinds come with free measuring and fitting. We can advise on the best material for your specific room.
