How do you clean roller blinds without removing them?

The easiest way to clean roller blinds in place is with a damp microfibre cloth. Roll the blind fully down, then wipe gently from top to bottom. Avoid soaking the fabric as too much water can leave marks or damage the coating.

For dust, a feather duster or the brush attachment on your vacuum cleaner works well. Run it lightly across the surface with the blind fully extended. Do this every couple of weeks and the fabric stays fresh.

Stains need a bit more attention. Mix a small amount of washing-up liquid in warm water. Dab the stain with a soft cloth rather than rubbing, which can spread it. Blot dry with a clean towel afterwards.

Moisture-resistant roller blinds, often used in kitchens and bathrooms, are even simpler. These can be wiped down with a standard multi-surface spray without worrying about water damage.

Avoid bleach or harsh chemicals on any roller blind. They break down the fabric coating that helps the blind roll smoothly and resist UV fading.

If your blinds have heavy grease buildup from cooking, it may be time for a replacement rather than a deep clean. We supply roller blinds in hundreds of fabrics, with free fitting included.
