Coventry Blinds & Shutters

What are the best blinds for a bedroom?

The best bedroom blinds usually come down to how much light you want to block. For most people, blackout roller blinds are the top choice because they create the dark environment that helps you sleep.

Blackout blinds use a specially coated fabric that blocks almost all incoming light. They are ideal for light sleepers, shift workers, and children's rooms. Fitting the blind slightly wider than the recess, or adding side channels, reduces the light that creeps around the edges.

If you prefer a softer look, blackout-lined Roman blinds give the same darkness with a more decorative, fabric finish. Wooden Venetians are a good middle ground — you can tilt the slats almost closed for privacy and most of the darkness, with a warm, natural look.

Day and night blinds suit bedrooms where flexible daytime privacy matters more than total darkness, though they are not fully blackout.

Whatever you choose, a proper made-to-measure fit makes a big difference to how much light is blocked. We measure each window and include fitting free.
